Real learning is not just remembering facts. It’s about making curiosity start and making learning a deep feeling you will always remember.
This strong belief, born from my own journey back to the magic of childhood, is the heart of Music&English. I started it in Cambodia in 2014, during my incredible journey there. It was a magical time, and I had many opportunities to lead music lessons at different private music schools, such as SoundsKool and CamMelody, and international schools like East West International School and ISPP.
Music&English is a revolutionary methodology that isn’t just a teaching strategy; it also applies science to reveal and activate the innate “biological code” of learning in every child. This ensures certified and lasting deep learning.
My path, full of courage and a real search for meaning, led me at 33 – a very symbolic and meaningful age – to leave my secure job as a barista and fly to Cambodia. I studied for more than 8 years in Advanced Music Schools with specific music programs, which gave me the privilege of entering a Conservatory music program in its advanced years.
So, I studied Music Theory, Music History, Musical Instrument History, and the Analysis of Music Genres through the eras. I also studied Choir (learning singing techniques and how to write and compose for four voices), General Composition with a particular focus on the Bach Method called “Counterpoint,” and played in orchestras and Chamber Music in quartets and trios.
I saw every learning process through the pure eyes and endless enthusiasm of a kid. I listened to what I truly wished adults had told me when they tried to teach. From this deep connection within, Music & English emerged: a bridge between the natural desire to discover and a method based on solid principles.
My method stands on strong theoretical foundations, resonating with well-known principles of holistic education and music therapy.
- Universal Vibrations: At the core of Music&English is the deep understanding that every sensory element is a vibration. Musical notes are sound vibrations, and colors are visual vibrations. The revolutionary uniqueness of my method lies in creating a natural bridge between these two forms of energy. I developed a system where colors are uniquely linked to musical notes on the staff and keyboard. This isn’t just a simple pairing; it’s the synchronization of two universal and vibrating languages that a child’s brain is naturally wired to understand.
- The Emotional Bridge: Music, as known in music therapy, has an amazing power to bring out and shape emotions. Every single note, every melody, can be directly connected to an emotional state. At the same time, color psychology teaches us that colors also have a deep and universal emotional impact. Music & English Methodology uses this strong connection: just as a specific sound can bring up an emotion, so can a specific color. The color-note-emotion link creates a powerful brain network, making learning not just intellectual, but deeply felt and remembered.
- Direct and Hands-On Experience: Modern teaching emphasizes the importance of learning by doing. Music & English Methodology takes this further: children aren’t just watching; they’re active explorers. Hands-on experience and direct experimentation with what’s being taught are crucial. Children touch, create, and physically link the visual vibrations of colors to the sound vibrations of notes on the keyboard. This three-dimensional sensory interaction further strengthens brain connections.
