The Music&English Approach to Violin Mastery
At Music&English, I believe learning violin should always be a joyful adventure. That’s why I make the journey of mastering the violin fun and engaging, making sure each step feels like a small discovery rather than a giant effort. For me, a positive attitude from the teacher is the first and most important “note” in every lesson.
Our best friends in this musical adventure are always colors, friendly puppets, and body percussion songs. These tools are super important, especially for young learners. But in our violin lessons, we add something even more interesting: geometric shapes and the magic of physics! Don’t worry, we explain everything simply but very precisely.
Courses are starting by the age 6+

The Music&English Difference: Where Precision Meets Play
In our Music&English violin lessons, everything fits together smoothly:
- Colors for Notes and Position: Colors guide fingers to the right notes, making staying in tune visual and intuitive.
- Puppets for Posture and Expression: Our friendly puppets show how to hold the violin and bow correctly, making posture adjustments fun and easy to relate to.
- Body Percussion for Rhythm and Coordination: Before even touching the violin, kids learn rhythm and coordination through body percussion.
- Geometric Shapes for Precision: We use simple geometric ideas to explain complex movements.
- Physics Made Simple: We talk about how sound is made – how the bow’s speed, pressure, and where it touches the string affect the sound. We explain this with fun examples and hands-on experiments, turning kids into little sound scientists.
- Background Music for Easy Repetition: Practice sessions are never boring. We use upbeat background music that has a clear rhythm, encouraging students to repeat exercises with excitement. This builds muscle memory and a strong sense of rhythm without them getting bored.
The Dance of Precision: Building Your Violin Foundation
Learning the violin starts with finding the right body position. Think of it like a beautiful dance where your body and arms work together perfectly. It’s not just about staying stiff; it’s about finding a natural balance and an efficient way to move, to create a wonderful sound.
Repeating exercises is key to learning good technique for the bow, fingers, rhythm, and staying in tune. We know “repetition” can sound boring, but at Music&English, we turn it into something fun. How? By always using background music. This keeps students happy and motivated, preventing tiredness and making practice feel more like playing along with a band than a chore.
